Rincon, GA was once a small turn-of-the-century railroad town that sprouted up along the miles of railroad tracks that wound down the eastern seaboard through rural Georgia, but it's grown to be the largest municipality in Effingham County. Sawmills, cotton gins and turpentine stills provided the foundations for commercial growth, and the resulting strong economy lead to its formal incorporation in 1927. Today Rincon is home to more than 4,000 residents and offers a healthy small business climate, large retail outlets and restaurants. Medical care is provided by St Josephs Candler Medical Group's Rincon location. Domestic and international flights are conveniently accessible from the Savannah International Airport about 30 miles away. |
