Michael spent the majority of his youth in Europe because his father was a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force. Michael's family retired in Frisco, Colorado in 1979. Michael earned a degree in Business Administration/Marketing and then served as a United States Army Infantry Officer, 75th Ranger regiment for ten years. Following Michael's military career, he moved back to Colorado and was a successful real estate broker, residential inspector and residential developer/builder/designer. His expertise in real estate and residential building produced over 80 thousand square feet of new residential ski resort property in the Summit County, Colorado area.

Michael has been visiting Hilton Head Island since 1992 and in January of 2009, made Hilton Head Island his permanent home. Mike loves to ski, golf and enjoys all the beach resorts. He is a member of the national and local associations of Realtors. Michael is the proud father of Madison Lea Caffery who is in high school now.
